Readers & Writers Rock!
In 2014, thanks to a generous grant from author James Patterson, Children’s Book World launched Readers & Writers Rock!, a nonprofit program that has the mission of bringing authors to low-income schools and bringing underserved children to Children’s Book World author events. Each of the children attending receives an autographed copy of one of the visiting author’s books. We want to put books into the hands of children and be able to provide them with author visits that can inspire and nurture a love of reading.
Readers & Writers Rock! has brought students to events with Jacqueline Woodson, Dav Pilkey, Jewell Parker Rhodes, Hope Anita Smith, Mac Barnett, Barney Saltzberg, David Shannon, William Alexander, Mina Javerhin, Michael S. Bundy, Eric Stein, and more.
SUPPORT READERS & WRITERS ROCK!
We are asking for your financial support of Readers & Writers Rock! in our quest to continue and expand our outreach to underserved kids, many without books in their homes.
In honor of Children’s Book World’s 30th Anniversary in 2016, we are launching our Thirty for Thirty fund raising campaign. Please donate $30, $300, $3,000 or what you can and make a difference in a child’s literary life. 100% of proceeds will go to Readers & Writers Rock!
For corporate sponsorship and/or opportunities for ongoing support to a school or class please email email@example.com or call Sharon, 310 559-2665.
