In addition to writing about art, artists, and makers, she is a painter, teacher, and supporter of arts education for children of all ages.
Julie Appel lives in New York City where she directs a program for students impacted by the criminal justice system. She is the co-author of the bestselling children’s book series, Touch the Art. In addition to being a lawyer and licensed social worker, Julie is an avid collector of her kid’s art.
